Veterans Day Program

Duff-Allen Central Elementary takes pride in supporting and honoring our local veterans. Each November, we host a luncheon for veterans in our community, followed by a program presented by the student body. A Poster and Essay Contest is sponsored by V.F.W. Post 5839, and members of the Floyd Central High School J.R.O.T.C. program attend to present the colors at the beginning of the program.

Students, faculty, and staff may submit photos of veterans and active duty servicemen from their families for the program. Email photos to Mrs. Cecillia Prater at cecilia.prater@floyd.kyschools.us, and be sure to include the following:

  • Veteran’s name
  • Branch of service
  • Years served
  • Relationship to the student, faculty, or staff member at D.A.C.E.

Information and photos provided will be converted into slides that will play during the program and printed and displayed in the hallway the week of Veterans Day.
