Superintendent Anna Shepherd announces five new buses have been added to the Floyd County Schools fleet.
One bus is a 52 passenger bus and the other four buses are 24 passenger buses. These are all air conditioned and state of the art. Floyd County Schools has a long range plan of purchasing 5 buses every year to be in compliance with state recommendations for school bus fleets.
Superintendent Shepherd comments, “We’re happy to have new buses for our students. We want our students to have the best of everything - the best education, the best teachers, the best facilities and the best transportation possible so anytime we are able to give our children something new, we are thrilled.”
According to Chief Transportation Officer Joe Marson, 36 new buses have been added to the fleet since 2017.
